NIU Inks New Ticket Sales Partner

DEKALB, IL. – The Northern Illinois University Athletics Department has contracted with Taymar Sales U., a college sports marketing company focused on driving new revenue while offering personalized service, to manage its outbound ticket sales, NIU Associate Vice-President and Director of Athletics Sean T. Frazier announced Wednesday.

Taymar Sales U. will aggressively market NIU Athletics tickets to fans throughout the region, with a focus on building the season ticket base while also selling single game and group tickets.

“We’re excited about this new partnership with Taymar Sales U., a company that is building a great reputation and has considerable experience of success in this important area,” Frazier said. “I’m confident they will bring increased energy to our sales efforts while integrating with our external staff to provide NIU fans with excellent customer service.”

NIU is the seventh college athletics program, and the first in the Midwest and in the Mid-American Conference, to give TSU full management responsibilities for outbound ticket sales. NIU joins Kentucky, Georgia State, LSU, Georgia Southern, Robert Morris and The Citadel as Taymar partners.

“We have been working on getting into the MAC and NIU is a great start,” said Taymar founder Mark Dyer. “The university and athletics program is important to thousands of students, alumni and fans in the region, including Chicagoland, and Sean Frazier is respected nationally as a leader in intercollegiate athletics. We look forward to working with him and the entire NIU external team to make an impact on Huskie Athletics.”

Matt Jacobson will lead the Taymar Sales U. property at NIU as Director of Ticket Sales and Service. He brings more than five years of experience in professional sports ticket sales, most recently serving in sales, customer service and leadership positions with Major League Soccer’s Chicago Fire. Jacobson is a native of Palatine, Ill. who earned his bachelor’s degree from Northern Colorado University and received his MBA from Old Dominion.
