Taymar Signs Queen City Soccer Club as First Pro Sports Client
CHARLOTTE, NC – Taymar Founder/CEO Mark Dyer and Queen City Soccer Club President/COO Tim Schuldt today announced a new multiyear agreement for Dyer’s company to recruit and manage a ticket sales and operations team for the organization’s professional and amateur sports activities in Charlotte.
Known as Taymar Sales U., the fastest-growing company in the college sports world, Dyer’s company will operate as Taymar Sales Pro in its first contract with a pro sports operation. Queen City’s USL League One men’s team, the Charlotte Independence, and the organization’s USL-W team of the same name, play at Charlotte’s Memorial Stadium.
“We decided to do this because it helps our core college sports business,” said Dyer. “Our senior management team was unanimous in believing this was a good move for our company, and we couldn’t have picked a better client to work for in Queen City Soccer Club, Tim and the club’s ownership group.
“The city of Charlotte is very important to me personally, going back to my NASCAR days,” Dyer added. “Tammy and I have many friends and family there, the city’s growth has been spectacular, and interest in soccer is obviously increasing dramatically.”
Dyer was on the senior management team at NASCAR and ran the organization’s Charlotte division from 2002-2007. During that time, he pioneered the creation of the NASCAR Hall of Fame with the city of Charlotte.
“My history with Mark has been one of working together to grow revenue and provide excellent customer service. I know him well and the professional DNA and principles he leads with,” said Schuldt. “Taymar Sales U. has demonstrated those foundational values while growing rapidly and serving an impressive roster of clients including LSU, Michigan State, the University of Kentucky and many others.
“Charlotte is a competitive market, and we have an exciting future ahead of us,” Schuldt continued. “With our men’s team and other events we’re bringing to town, the time is right to bring in a strong sales ally to grow our business further.”
“We are promoting Edwin Valentin to the position of General Manager of Ticket Sales and Operations to launch and lead our new sales team with Queen City Soccer Club,” said Taymar President Joe Rickert. “Edwin has spent the past two and a half years with Taymar, most recently serving as Director of Ticket Sales and Operations at Robert Morris University where he was a standout leader and seller, implementing new practices and taking ticket revenues to new heights.”
