DePaul Athletics Expands Ticket Sales Partnership with Taymar Sales U.
Chicago – After a record year of ticket sales and attendance, DePaul Athletics has expanded its multiyear partnership with Taymar Sales U. The firm, first signed in August 2022, handles outbound ticket sales and operations for DePaul Athletics’ ticketed events, with an emphasis on men’s and women’s basketball.
“As we continue to modernize our ticketing infrastructure, sales, and service operations, we knew expanding our partnership with Taymar would be critical,” said DePaul Vice President/Director of Athletics DeWayne Peevy, “We’ve quickly seen the effects of their staff’s dedication and data-focused approach to ticket sales on our attendance and revenue figures. We look to continue to scale up their operation in the coming years to best meet the needs of Blue Demon fans and ensure we continue to increase self-generated revenues within the athletics department and attendance at Wintrust Arena.”
During the 2022-23 men’s basketball season, DePaul saw a nearly 23% increase in attendance and a 4.5% increase in revenue from the prior season. For women’s basketball, the athletics department saw an impressive 52% increase in attendance and a 44% increase in revenue. Student attendance and guest ticket revenue were also elevated over the prior year.
“DePaul is a great example of how we are growing as a company and how we are growing in our service to our client schools,” said Taymar Founder/CEO Mark Dyer. “We appreciate the confidence DeWayne and his staff have placed in us and look forward to our bigger role at this great university and athletics program.”
In December 2022, DePaul recorded its highest-attended women’s basketball game with an announced attendance of 6,523 versus Howard. The Blue Demons further recorded their first sellout of Wintrust Arena on January 28, 2023, with an announced attendance of 10,387 for the men’s basketball program’s game versus Marquette. DePaul Olympic sports also saw a record-setting year with the men’s soccer program posting the largest crowd in school history (1,118) in October 2022, the women’s volleyball program achieving the highest ticket sales revenue in school history, and the softball program recording the second-highest ticket sales revenue in school history, only behind the 2021-22 season.
“DePaul is a special place, with a rich tradition and a passionate fan base, and we are honored to be expanding our relationship and growing our team to better serve Blue Demon fans across the great city of Chicago,” said Taymar President Joe Rickert. “DeWayne Peevy, Taylor Stapleton, Marty Murphy and the rest of the DePaul Athletics team have welcomed us with open arms. Matt Menard has been a great leader for our team, and we look forward to many more successes to come.”
DePaul was the second school from the BIG EAST Conference to sign with Taymar, joining the University of Connecticut. DePaul was also the second school in the state of Illinois to sign with Taymar, joining Northern Illinois.
